The weather was extremely challenging: terrible frost in April destroyed almost entirely half of the vineyards, leading to a difficult blossoming in a warm, sunny summer yet Rare Millésime 1990 shows a powerful balance. Lively aristocratic bubbles dance in a deep, intensely brilliant robe. On the nose, candied citrus fruits offer fine-cut aromas, sharpened and underlined by notes of crème brulée, cognac, roasted pineapple, rum-baba and toasted wood. The palate is harmonious. The velvety warm taste of dates, figs, smooth spices and wax deliver a profound harmony and discreet sensuality.
